SuperYachts of the Caribbean pairs a maritime professional background with proven competence and freelance photography to spotlight superyachts across the Caribbean.

Led by a sale & purchase broker, I turn frontline market intelligence into clear, trustworthy insights for owners, captains, and enthusiasts. SuperYachts of the Caribbean where brokerage expertise meets visual storytelling - celebrating the Caribbean while connecting people and opportunities.

My professional roots are in commercial shipping. In the mid-1990s, I trained as a shipbroker in Hamburg and went on to specialize in the transaction of maritime assets, i.e. the sale and purchase of second-hand tonnage and the contracting of newbuilds of various types of vessels, primarily at shipyards in Asia.

Around that same period, I began to discover the Caribbean, a region that soon became a personal and professional anchor, inspiring regular visits and a lasting connection to the Antilles.

For more than two decades, I worked daily with container ships and vessels that carry dry and liquid cargoes in bulk - part of the commercial fleet that moves roughly 80 to 90% of the global trade.

A scanned legal document titled 'Memorandum of Agreement' dated October 6th, 2010, outlining terms for a ship sale and purchase, including classifications, specifications, purchase price, deposit, and payment terms.

As a daily task across my career I’ve worked on both sides of the transaction - mandated by buyers, sellers, and at times both.

I have served as an in-house broker representing owners/principals and as a competitive broker in the open market. That dual perspective helps me navigate and reconcile interests that can differ sharply.

Over the years, a select group of clients has entrusted me as their sole, exclusive broker - equivalent in yacht-brokerage terms to acting as the central agent.

Sale & purchase of cargo vessels and newbuild contracting are fundamentally proactive disciplines. The momentum starts with the broker, who acts as an engaged service partner and consultant.

There’s no public listing site with photos and specs in this space; the work relies on expertise, current market intelligence, and direct relationships with decision-makers and executives.

A select group of these clients also owned or operated large yachts - some for private leisure, others as part of structured ventures through technical management or investments in shipyards.

This exposure marked my first introduction to the world of yachts shortly after the turn of the millennium. It is worth noting that many of the major, long-established yacht builders - particularly in Germany, including those in Hamburg, Bremen, and Rendsburg - have deep historical roots in commercial shipbuilding.

It would take another two decades before I began to place greater focus on the world of superyachts.

After relocating from Europe to the Leeward Islands, yachts that I had previously only seen in industry magazines became part of my everyday surroundings. Icons such as Lürssen's LIMITLESS were now familiar sights in my neighborhood during the winter months.

This proximity reignited my fascination as a mariner and inspired me to look more closely at the movements and composition of the large-yacht fleet in the Caribbean. Faced with a lack of structured information, I eventually began compiling my own notes and observations.
